There are three steps to run the Light Language software on a Mac: 1. Install special Mac software that allows Windows to run on the Mac. 2. Install the Windows software. 3. Install the Light Language software. More recent Macs ( Mac OS X Leopard) come with a free program called Bootcamp that allows the Mac to use a Windows OS and thus Windows programs. Non-free programs include Parallels and VMWare Fusion. A possible advantage of these is that you can run the Mac OS and the Windows OS at the same time and don't need to restart the computer to switch back and forth. Another option is to buy an inexpensive PC such as a "Netbook" with Windows XP or Windows 7 already installed and use it with the LL software. See below. The LL software will run on the various popular small "netbooks" made by ASUS, HP, Acer, Lenovo and others as long as it has Windows XP or Vista or Win 7. We have been running the LL software on a Netbook for some time and use it almost exclusively as our computer. The Netbooks have different size keyboards and screens. If possible, test the screen and keyboard form factors for compatibility with your hands and eyes. If you have more than one computer, such as a Netbook for travel and a desktop at home, you may install the software on both. |
